Snap-in e-caps: Bridging power failures with application-optimised rated voltage

Thanks to the vertical integration of pre-material production, Jianghai can freely vary the key electrical properties of its electrolytic capacitors within the physical limits. One of the most important electrical parameters of electrolytic capacitors is the rated voltage, which is proportional to the thickness of the dielectric layer and thus to the so-called forming voltage of the anode foil.

In UPS applications, for example, a high energy density of the electrolytic capacitor bank is important in order to reliably bridge gaps in the supply from the upstream power grid. One example is a 500 V / 900 µF / 85 °C / D x L = 40 mm x 50 mm capacitor, which has been optimised by reducing the rated voltage to 480 V (using a new anode foil with a lower forming voltage). As a result, the new component has the following parameters with the same dimensions: 480 V / 1000 µF, i.e. around 11% more capacity with approx. 3.5% more current carrying capacity and approx. 10% lower typical ESR value, and that at virtually constant manufacturing costs.

Jianghai's customised electrolytic capacitors combine technical solutions tailored to the respective application with good cost efficiency and are available for orders starting from the minimum order quantity of the catalogue item – please feel free to contact us for more information.
